A man from Monterey, California, brought his female relative from El Salvador to the U.S. when she was 17, and was convicted of raping her continuously for years, resulting in pregnancy.
The victim, feeling isolated without anyone in the U.S. to help her, sought assistance after the man threatened the child. The perpetrator was sentenced to 40 years in prison and lifetime sex offender registration.
