Magnitude 3.2 earthquake hits off Malibu coast, the latest to hit Southern California
Briefly

The magnitude 3.2 earthquake off the coast of Malibu was the seventh seismic event of magnitude 3 or greater this month, highlighting increased geological activity.
According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the "weak" shaking from Saturday's earthquake was only felt by a few people at rest and those indoors.
Seismologist Lucy Jones noted that 2023 has seen an unusually high number of seismic sequences, breaking a 65-year record for earthquakes of magnitude 4 or higher.
Despite increased earthquake activity, scientists caution that this does not necessarily predict a large, damaging quake in the near future.
