House explosion in Long Beach injures one person, displaces three others

At 11 a.m., Long Beach firefighters responded to reports of an explosion on the 2800 block of Gale Avenue, officials said. Upon arrival, they confirmed the explosion.
The explosion occurred in an accessory dwelling unit in the rear of a home. The ADU was heavily damaged and was 'red tagged,' rendering it uninhabitable.
One individual was injured and treated at a local hospital, while the Red Cross assisted the three individuals displaced by the incident.
Utilities have been secured and there is currently no threat to the neighborhood. The entire area is undergoing cleanup by the City of Long Beach 'Clean Team.'
