Fire crews in San Bernardino, California, successfully rescued a woman who had gotten trapped in an underground storm drain. The incident began when fire crews arrived at a narrow section of the drainage system in downtown San Bernardino, where they discovered she was stuck approximately 15 feet in from the entrance. After establishing a ventilation plan for fresh air, crews coached her to reverse herself about 20 feet until they were able to safely reach and extract her. Fortunately, she was taken to a hospital for evaluation and reported no visible injuries.
