
"CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, Calif. (KGO) -- The suspect in a San Ramon DUI crash that killed a Castro Valley woman over Thanksgiving weekend was charged with second-degree murder, police said Thursday. Police said after presenting evidence in court, 28-year-old Badal Dholaria was charged with one count of second-degree murder, and four counts of felony DUI. The two-car crash involved a Tesla Model S and Ford Bronco on Crow Canyon Road Saturday afternoon."
"Police say preliminary reports indicate Dholaria was traveling at more than 150 mph westbound in a Tesla and struck the passenger side of a Ford Bronco. The Tesla was believed to have still been traveling in excess of 120 mph at the time of the impact. 28-year-old Badal Dholaria was charged with one count of second-degree murder and four counts of felony DUI after a high-speed crash on Crow Canyon Road. The two-car collision involved a Tesla Model S and a Ford Bronco. Preliminary reports indicate Dholaria was traveling westbound at more than 150 mph in the Tesla and struck the passenger side of the Bronco; the Tesla was still believed to be exceeding 120 mph at impact. A 41-year-old Castro Valley woman who was a passenger died in the wreck. Dholaria was arrested for vehicular manslaughter and DUI, treated at a hospital, later released, and is held on $1.2 million bail at the Martinez Detention Facility.
