On Aug. 12 a Saratoga resident reported identity theft after someone used personal information to access a bank account and withdrew about $30,000. That same day at 3:20 a.m. a vehicle window was broken in the 18000 block of Paseo Lado, with damage estimated over $1,000. On Aug. 13 a resident was deceived by an email impersonating an online payment company, resulting in about $9,500 mailed in cash. Additional identity theft reports involved new bank and cellular accounts with no financial loss. Forged mailed checks led to losses of about $6,383 and $900. On Aug. 14 Saratoga Eyes was burglarized and glasses stolen. On Aug. 15 jewelry was taken from an unlocked residence on Gunther Court.

Identity theft: A Saratoga resident reported that someone used their personal information to obtain bank and cellular phone service accounts. No financial loss was reported.
