In a tragic incident in Fresno County, California, a 7-year-old boy survived a car crash that killed his mother. After the vehicle, which was not visible from the highway, overturned down an embankment, the boy remained with his mother for approximately 12 hours before being found walking on a mountain road. CHP reported that neither the boy nor his mother were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash, and the cause remains under investigation, including potential factors such as drugs or alcohol.
According to CHP Officer John Marsh, the Subaru that the mother was driving had fallen nearly 200 feet off an embankment, hidden in a grove of trees.
The boy remarkably survived the crash; officials believe he stayed with his mother for 12 hours trying to stay warm until he was found.
