Antioch: 11-year-old girl hit in head by stray bullet
"An 11-year-old girl is in stable condition after being hit in the head by a stray bullet Monday in Antioch, police said. The shooting happened shortly before 12:40 p.m. in the parking lot of an apartment complex at 3915 Delta Fair Blvd., Antioch police Lt. Gary Lowther said in a news release. At the time, the victim was riding in her family's vehicle as it exited the parking lot."
"Officers found the vehicle at a nearby shopping center and provided first aid until relieved by Contra Costa County Fire Department personnel, Lowther said. The girl was rushed to Children's Hospital Oakland, where she was listed in stable condition. The investigation is ongoing, but Lowther said the family does not appear to have been the intended targets. Police did not announce any arrests or release a description of the suspect Monday."
