"I can only imagine the profound pain and grief Kembery's family is experiencing during this difficult time. Kembery was in the prime of her life. She was working two jobs to make ends meet and she was a loving mother of a five year old son. Today I'm pleased to announce that we've made two arrests in connection with this homicide."
"On Thursday, March 5, we conducted a coordinated operation which spanned two counties and involved multiple law enforcement agencies. Both suspects were taken into custody by our detectives and the Sunnyvale swat team without incident."
Kembery Chirinos-Flores, a 24-year-old mother of a five-year-old son from Mountain View, was found shot to death in Sunnyvale in early January. After two months without arrests, Sunnyvale police conducted a coordinated operation spanning two counties on March 5, resulting in the arrest of two suspects. One suspect, from Hollister, had a previous domestic violence charge and shared a child with Chirinos-Flores. The other suspect, from Sunnyvale, had outstanding murder warrants in New Jersey. Both men were taken into custody without incident. Chirinos-Flores was working two jobs to support her family when she was killed by shotgun fire near a mobile home community on Vienna Drive.
