Which Christmas foods are more expensive in Germany this year?

The cost of making a traditional Christmas dinner has increased, with beef roulade up 5.2% and roast pork rising 1.7% compared to last year.

Despite the overall rise in grocery prices, some items have decreased, including an average drop of 1.8% in smoked pork and pork products.

Many raclette ingredients have seen significant price hikes, such as peppers up 9.6%, mixed minced meat up 4.1%, and tomatoes up 4.3% from the previous year.

Baking traditional cookies, like Platzchen, has also seen cost increases, particularly in butter, which has experienced one of the largest price jumps.
