Keonne Rodriguez and William Lonergan Hill, alleged co-founders of Samourai Wallet, are facing charges and potential decades in US prison for facilitating the laundering of over $100 million in criminal cash.
The Department of Justice (DOJ) claims Rodriguez and Hill earned $4.5 million in fees over nine years of running Samourai, offering products that facilitated money laundering and operated outside of regulatory rules.
Samourai Wallet was allegedly used to launder funds from dark web marketplaces like Silk Road and Hydra Market, along with cybercrimes such as spearphishing campaigns and server intrusions, per the DoJ.
