The FTC is investigating Uber for its subscription policies
Briefly

The Federal Trade Commission is investigating complaints regarding Uber One, particularly accusations that Uber signed users up without consent and complicated cancellation procedures.
Uber's Noah Edwardsen stated, "We will continue to answer any questions the FTC may have about our cancellation policies... members can easily cancel their membership in the app - in fact, the majority of those cancellations take 20 seconds or less."
The FTC introduced a 'click to cancel' rule that mandates companies to ease subscription cancellations, similar to actions taken against Amazon and Adobe for their subscription services in recent times.
This inquiry follows a history of scrutiny for Uber, including a 2017 settlement over exaggerated driver income claims and a 2018 settlement related to a data breach.
