Next UK government to benefit from easing inflation and fuel prices
Briefly

Britain's next government set to benefit from reduced pressure on household finances as shop price inflation slows to 0.2% and petrol costs drop. Despite some relief, families still find costs 'too expensive.'
RAC reported UK shop price inflation at 0.2%, slowest since October 2021. Retailers cut prices on products like butter and coffee. Petrol and diesel prices fell for the second month in a row, but filling up remains 'too expensive.'
Average petrol price in the UK dropped to under 145p/litre and diesel to about 150p. However, prices in Northern Ireland were notably lower, with petrol 4.5p/l cheaper and diesel 8p cheaper than the rest of the UK.
RAC's head of policy mentioned that despite lower petrol prices in the UK, drivers feel they are getting a 'raw deal' compared to Northern Ireland. Some forecourts, like Shell and BP, were noted as the most expensive with fuel priced differently.
