Briefly

The minimum wage for over 21s, known officially as the National Living Wage, will rise by 6.7%, from 11.44 to 12.21 from April 2025.
Nye Cominetti, principal economist at the Resolution Foundation think tank, noted that while the increase was 'good news' for lower earners, the 77p uplift for workers over 21 was smaller than in previous years.
The Treasury stated that the largest increase in minimum wage for under-21s marks the first step towards a single rate for all adults.
Christine Dobson Moore, a business owner, expressed concerns about the impact of higher wage bills and workers' rights reforms on smaller businesses.
