The Nets have dramatically improved, winning five of their last six games and positioning themselves for a play-in spot in the Eastern Conference. Despite a roster weakened by trades and player buyouts, first-year coach Jordi Fernandez has instilled a competitive spirit in the team. The players are motivated, with Nic Claxton expressing confidence that they can continue their climb. With upcoming matches against teams outside the playoff picture, the Nets see an opportunity to solidify their standing before the All-Star break.
Instead of battling for the worst record in the NBA, the Nets have a chance to head into the All-Star break fighting for a berth in the play-in round.
What we care about here is the next game and if we're accomplishing certain things about our development... we are all competitive here, and finding new ways to be competitive is important.
We're pretty close right now, and the only thing we have to do is stay the course... kept working, kept working, kept working. Some wins came our way.
Three games back, so we've still got a lot of work to do. But if we keep chopping, we know we can get it.
