Worker allegedly struck by fellow contractor in fatal Brooklyn hit-and-run

A 37-year-old construction worker was clearing debris on Parrott Place in Bay Ridge when a 2012 Ford Econoline van reversed into him near 90th St. around 7:48 p.m. on Monday. The worker was briefly pinned between the van and construction debris before the driver pulled away and the worker fell to the street. The driver then sped south on Parrott Place, struck a parked Toyota Camry, and fled. Medics took the worker to Langone Hospital, where he died. Investigators reviewed witness accounts and video footage, identified the driver as 48-year-old Baber Choudhary, and arrested him Monday evening after contacting him by phone and ordering him to return. He was charged with leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death, pleaded not guilty, and was released without bail.

"Choudhary is charged with leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death. He pleaded not guilty at his arraignment and was released without bail."
