Xiaohong Chen, 52, was crossing Bay Ridge Avenue near 13th Avenue about 8:10 p.m. - just a couple blocks from her home - when a Dodge Ram pick-up truck traveling eastbound on Bay Ridge Avenue hit the woman, according to the NYPD.
The intersection saw only one injurious crash in 2023, according to NYC Crash Mapper. But 13th Avenue saw 12 injurious crashes on under a mile stretch from Bay Ridge Avenue to 86th Street.
