On Saturday night, police found a 16-year-old boy with a gunshot wound to the chest at the Whitman Houses in Brooklyn.
The victim was taken to the hospital but unfortunately pronounced dead shortly after arrival. Authorities have yet to release his identity.
No arrests have been made yet in connection with the shooting, which continues to be under investigation by the NYPD.
As of mid-October, the 88th Precinct has reported four homicides this year, showing a slight uptick in violence compared to last year.
