A stranger pummeled a 71-year-old man at the Broadway-Lafayette subway station after refusing him entry into an elevator, resulting in serious injuries.
The assailant punched the elderly man multiple times in the face, causing him to fall and sustain a head injury, leading to hospitalization.
Police have released a surveillance image of the suspect, who was seen wearing a red and black Atlanta Hawks jacket and pushing a hand truck.
The victim was treated for a cut on his head and bruising, remaining in stable condition at Bellevue Hospital after the attack.
