A thief disguised in a suit and mask stole approximately $15,000 from donation boxes at the Congregation Agudath Sholom synagogue in Kensington, Brooklyn. The break-in occurred around 1 a.m. on January 25, with security footage showing the suspect entering the building, methodically collecting cash, and then leaving calmly while locking the door behind him. Investigators are seeking public assistance in identifying the suspect, though it's unclear if anyone was present during the robbery, which fortunately resulted in no reported injuries.
The masked, suit-clad thief snuck into the Congregation Agudath Sholom on 18th Avenue near East 19th Street in Kensington around 1 a.m. Jan. 25.
Footage released by the NYPD shows the suspect stealthily opening the door and traipsing through the house of worship, stealing cash from donation boxes.
