Three scammers targeted individuals near New York University, successfully stealing $3,500 across several incidents during December and January. They initially approached victims under the pretense of seeking donations for their sports team. In at least three separate robberies, they used intimidation to coerce victims, including a 14-year-old boy and two young men, to withdraw cash from ATMs and transfer money via an app. The NYPD has released images of the suspects and is seeking information from the public to assist in their capture.
