At approximately 4:42 p.m. on August 18, a 66-year-old woman was brutally attacked in East Flatbush, Brooklyn, leaving her hospitalized with severe injuries.
The assailant approached the woman and her friend, began rambling incoherently, and suddenly launched a violent assault using both fists and kicks, possibly with a weapon.
Authorities are actively searching for the suspect, who was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and dark clothing, fleeing westbound post-attack.
The victim was transported to Mount Sinai Hospital and is currently in stable condition, while her companion escaped the assault unharmed.
