Industry City hosted a lively Lunar New Year celebration to welcome the Year of the Snake, featuring lion dances, music, and local businesses. The event was attended by numerous Brooklynites who enjoyed the festivities, including photo opportunities with the lion. Although the actual Lunar New Year lasts for a day, the Chinese Spring Festival continues throughout February, with Industry City adorned in festive art. Jim Somoza, Managing Director, emphasized the importance of celebrating Brooklyn's rich East Asian heritage and encouraged support for local businesses.
The Lunar New Year celebration is one of our favorite annual traditions at Industry City. Brooklyn's Sunset Park is home to one of the largest East Asian communities in NYC.
Lion dances, often performed on Lunar New Year, are thought to bring good luck and good fortune - and Industry City's lion blessed businesses and visitors alike.
