A person was fatally struck by a train in Brooklyn on Wednesday, resulting in significant delays along the D train line. The incident occurred near Bay Parkway at around 8:45 a.m., and emergency services pronounced the individual dead at the scene shortly thereafter. The MTA reported that southbound D trains faced disruptions, requiring express services to bypass the affected area as delays continued for commuters headed toward Coney Island.
As a consequence of the tragic incident, the MTA adjusted train operations, with southbound D trains experiencing delays along the N line stretching from 36th Street to Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue. To mitigate impact, those trains were rerouted to run express from 62nd Street onwards, avoiding Bay Parkway altogether to expedite travel for other passengers. The timing of the accident coincided with peak morning commute hours, further complicating travel for many.
