NY Attorney General opens probe into death of Flatbush man being served with warrant

The New York Attorney General's Office of Special Investigation has opened a case into Vilmond Jean-Baptiste's death following a confrontation with NYPD officers while they executed a warrant.
Jean-Baptiste was wanted for two homicides and was found hiding in a bathtub. When confronted by NYPD, he allegedly approached officers with a knife.
During the encounter, the officers attempted to subdue Jean-Baptiste with a taser that malfunctioned, resulting in three officers firing their weapons.
As per New York State Executive Law, any incident leading to a death caused by law enforcement is reviewed by the Office of Special Investigation.
