The NYPD reported that the man, identified as 33-year-old Alberto Morris, allegedly killed a Pit Bull by throwing it from a 14th-floor balcony during an argument. Following this tragic incident, the NYPD's Animal Cruelty Investigation Squad collaborated with the ASPCA to apprehend Morris and ensure he faces justice for his actions.
Morris was charged with several crimes: reckless endangerment, aggravated cruelty to animals, grand larceny, criminal possession of stolen property, and criminal mischief. According to court records, the dog belonged to a resident with whom Morris had a dispute.
Despite the severity of the charges, including torturing an animal, Morris pleaded not guilty during his arraignment and was released without bail, now under supervised release, as stated by the Brooklyn District Attorney's Office.
