The LIRR is adding extra stops at the Mets-Willets Point station in preparation for the U.S. Open, increasing access for over a million expected fans.
Starting Monday, commuter train schedules will include additional Mets-Willets Point stops, enhancing convenience for fans attending the U.S. Open events from Aug. 26 to Sept. 8.
Fans can take a direct 19-minute train from Grand Central Madison or Penn Station to Mets-Willets Point at a discounted fare during off-peak hours.
City officials emphasize public transportation for the U.S. Open, urging fans to utilize the extra LIRR and subway services during the event.
