Hochul Launches Campaign for Nation's First Paid Prenatal Leave Policy
Briefly

"No pregnant woman in New York should be forced to choose between a paycheck and a check-up - and that's why I pushed to create the nation's first paid prenatal leave policy," Hochul said.
"About 130,000 pregnant women annually, including approximately 65,800 hourly workers, will benefit from this law," Reardon said.
"Studies show that prenatal care improves outcomes for mothers and infants, reducing risks of complications, low birth weight, and infant mortality."
"Pregnant women of color, particularly Black women, face disproportionately higher rates of pregnancy complications and maternal mortality."
