Every parent's back-to-school checklist includes getting backpacks and supplies, which can be expensive. Many locations across NYC are providing free backpacks for families in need.
The good news is that there are numerous locations around the city for families in need to pick up a backpack or school supplies before the new academic year begins.
Some events also require pre-registration and supplies at many of these events are limited, requiring the child receiving the bookbag to be present.
Numerous events across Manhattan and Brooklyn are being hosted before school starts, providing 1,000 bookbags at some events along with games, food, and fun.
