A fire in a Sunset Park building early on the morning of May 19 led to multiple civilians being trapped inside and resulted in one man's death during evacuation attempts. Responding units arrived shortly after 7 am to find substantial flames emerging from the second floor of the three-story mixed-occupancy building. Some residents were seen hanging out of their windows, making the rescue efforts critical.
