Fire at newly-renovated home in Carroll Gardens brings all-hands FDNY response
Briefly

The home's owners recently completed a top-to-bottom, 4-year gut renovation of the two-family structure, and tenants moved into their new two-bedroom garden apartment over the summer.
Smoke continued to emanate from the basement even after the flames were extinguished, one firefighter on the scene told the Brooklyn Eagle.
Neighbors stood in clumps on nearby stoops, shaking their heads and speculating on the cause of the fire.
The blaze was initially reported as starting in the walls of the basement. However, the cause is still under investigation by FDNY Fire Marshals.
