Police said a 39-year-old man driving a sprinter van was headed southbound on 18th Avenue at about 6:30 p.m. when he struck two pedestrians who were crossing the avenue midblock near 49th Street. Both pedestrians - 84-year-old Williamsburg resident Noach Klein and a 54-year-old man who has not been named - were taken to Maimonides Medical Center by ambulance."
