Shao Tong Lian, 41, was indicted for the murder of Fang Chen, 55, who was fatally stabbed in her Flushing apartment in August 2022. Lian allegedly arranged to pay Chen for sex and quickly attacked her upon arrival. Surveillance footage confirmed his entry to the building shortly before the assault. Chen was discovered the next day with multiple stab wounds and other injuries, corroborating the violent nature of the crime. With DNA evidence linking him to the scene, Lian faces serious charges, including potential life imprisonment if convicted.
The investigation revealed that after arranging to pay the victim for sex, Lian brutally stabbed her to death in under 20 minutes upon arrival.
