Cuts to Federal Funds Affects 9/11 Health Program
Briefly

Advocates for 9/11 first responders are sounding alarms over significant staffing cuts at the World Trade Center Health Program, fearing that a 20% reduction in staff will hinder the program's ability to assist those affected by toxic debris. The cuts, resulting from the Trump administration's federal budget slashes, are expected to exacerbate patient backlogs and delay treatment certifications. U.S. Senators Schumer and Gillibrand have criticized the cuts, urging transparency from the administration regarding the health fund's future, while Congressman Garbarino emphasizes its critical importance for sick responders.
It lacks empathy, it lacks humanity ... it's repulsive. We're talking about people sick and dying that are going to get sicker and die.
The Trump administration must come clean with whatever dirty deal they have planned for a health fund that should be about taking care of our 9/11 heroes-nothing more, nothing less.
I have emphasized to the White House how critical this program is and will continue advocating for the support it requires.
