According to police, the 76-year-old victim sustained head injuries after he was assaulted with the cart on Dec. 26.
The victim reported to police that he was walking by the intersection of Pierrepont Street and Monroe Place at around 6:30 p.m. when a man began arguing with him, allegedly calling him a 'terrorist'.
According to Police Department data, reports of felony assault were up more than 42% in 2023 in Brooklyn Heights' 84th Precinct as of Dec. 31, when the most recent data is available.
