The city is transforming a parking lot in Boerum Hill into a mixed-use affordable senior housing complex, comprising 68 units designed for older adults. The project addresses local needs identified in the Nevins and Third Community Visioning Report, including sustainable design and healthcare access. Development partners include Cornerstone Construction Group, St. Nicks Alliance, and Stanton Street Development Partners, with architectural design from David Cunningham Architecture Planning. Features like a rooftop farm and community space aim to foster a comfortable living environment for seniors.
This administration is committed to transforming underutilized city-owned land into safe, secure affordable housing. The Third Act Apartments will provide 68 older adults the ability to age in place comfortably and affordably with high-end amenities and services.
The development plan emerged from the Nevins and Third Community Visioning Report and input from more than 200 local stakeholders. Residents emphasized the need for senior and formerly homeless housing, alongside sustainable design and access to healthcare.
