A shooting occurred near City Point Mall in Downtown Brooklyn on Monday afternoon shortly after 2 p.m. near 445 Albee Square. A 30-year-old woman was struck in the lower leg while standing nearby as two groups fought on the sidewalk. Surveillance footage showed one person from the fighting groups pulled a gun and fired shots. The victim was not involved in the altercation and was the only person injured. She remained conscious and alert when police arrived and was transported to NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital in stable condition. The gunman escaped the scene and remains at large. An investigation is ongoing.
