The historic Lott House in Marine Park, dating back to the 18th century, is set to undergo interior renovations starting in early 2026 to transform it into a functional museum. The renovations will modernize essential systems while maintaining the house's historic integrity. This project aims to highlight the rich history of the Lott family and the surrounding Brooklyn community. With plans for educational programs and exhibitions, the museum will be a cultural asset for Marine Park, marking its significance in local heritage preservation.
Once open, the museum will focus on the history of the Lott family, the farm's past residents and workers, and the surrounding neighborhood.
We are eager to open the doors and invite the community in to share in the rich history - not only the history of the Lott family, but of the community and south Brooklyn; it's a New York City story.
