The Department of Sanitation is set to open a three-story, 220,000 square-foot facility on Park Ave in Bed-Stuy, featuring various functionalities such as offices, training rooms, and vehicle maintenance spaces. Designed by Dattner Architects, the facility prioritizes sustainability with its LEED certification, offering amenities such as a green roof, rainwater harvesting systems, solar panels, and EV charging stations. The modern structure, which stands 45 feet tall, replaces a previously vacant lot and showcases a facade designed for natural cooling through glass, concrete, and metal sunshade panels.
The new Department of Sanitation facility at 559 Park Ave will provide 220,000 square feet of space for multiple functions, including offices and vehicle storage.
