Police described the suspect as wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and released a photo to the public, urging anyone with information to come forward.
Despite the violent incident, transit crime in the precinct has decreased over 30% year-over-year, with overall assaults in the Bay Ridge area down 14%.
Emergency Medical Services transported the victim to NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn, where he was treated and is currently in stable condition.
