Commissioner Ydanis Rodriguez announced the Off-Hour Delivery Incentive Program, aimed at reducing peak hour traffic by encouraging businesses to shift deliveries to off-peak hours.
The program, funded with $6 million from the federal DOT, provides reimbursement for expenses related to off-hour deliveries, including security systems and low-noise equipment upgrades.
This initiative aims to enroll 5,000 locations by 2040, shifting 62,000 trucks away from peak hours, thereby speeding up delivery schedules and enhancing air quality.
The application is open until September 30 and is intended for all business sizes that make or receive deliveries, requiring a commitment to off-hour deliveries.
