Lynn Sanders, owner of CUE Boutique in Bay Ridge, suffered a stroke in August, leading to a difficult recovery that has affected her mobility and ability to operate her store. After emergency surgeries, she lost function in her left side, making it hard to return to work. Despite her passion for fashion and the boutique's past success built on her personality, she faces financial struggles as income dwindles. With limited social security support, Sanders is concerned about the future of her 20-year-old boutique and her overall well-being.
"I miss being normal," said Sanders. "But I'm working towards it. The knuckles in my hand move now. I get around stiffly with a cane."
"I love fashion, I love glamour," she said. "People loved it when I dressed them. It was so nice and thriving."
