A 90-year-old man was fatally struck by a moped driver while crossing East 14th Street in Sheepshead Bay around 9:34 a.m. on July 8. The moped, driven by an unidentified individual, was traveling southbound and struck the victim in the crosswalk during a green traffic light. The driver fled the scene while the victim sustained severe head trauma and was transported to NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn, where he was pronounced dead. The NYPD Highway District's Collision Investigation Squad is investigating the incident and no arrests have been made yet.

The victim was crossing East 14th Street in Sheepshead Bay when the collision occurred at around 9:34 a.m. on July 8.
An early investigation showed that an unidentified individual on a blue moped was heading southbound on East 14th Street, traveling through the intersection at a green traffic light when the driver barreled into the victim.
The moped driver did not remain at the scene, but the NYPD Highway District's Collision Investigation Squad is continuing its investigation.
