An early investigation showed that an unidentified individual on a blue moped was heading southbound on East 14th Street, traveling through the intersection at a green traffic light when the driver barreled into the victim.
The moped driver did not remain at the scene, but the NYPD Highway District's Collision Investigation Squad is continuing its investigation.
