On Monday night, a brazen attempted theft occurred at a closed Macy's in Downtown Brooklyn, where a suspect tried to steal diamond jewelry valued at $1.5 million. The incident unfolded around 10:15 p.m. when the suspect entered the store, concealed the jewelry in suitcases, but was confronted by an employee. In the ensuing chaos, the suspect abandoned the suitcases and escaped. The NYPD subsequently released surveillance images of the suspect who was dressed in all black.
