Early Monday morning, Salem police responded to reports of gunfire on Albion Street, where an Uber driver and his passengers were shot at. Fortunately, no one was injured. Police stated that the attack appears to be targeted rather than random. They emphasized the seriousness of gun violence, asserting their commitment to finding the shooters. Public cooperation is encouraged, with witnesses urged to report any information regarding the incident to assist in the investigation.
"Nobody hit, despite quite a few shots fired. It was really luck that saved everybody," said Dinois Ribas, the Uber driver who was shot at.
"Gunplay on the streets of Salem is unacceptable, and our detectives will work tirelessly to bring the perpetrators to justice," police stated.
