Boston police are currently investigating the death of a woman discovered early Tuesday morning near the Mary Ellen Welch Greenway rail trail in East Boston. Officers received a call around 7 a.m. regarding a body found in the vicinity of South Bremen and Marginal streets. Upon arrival, they found the woman unresponsive, and despite emergency response efforts, she was pronounced dead at the scene. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has taken custody of the body, and while authorities are investigating the case, they reported no signs of foul play and have not ruled it a homicide.
Just before 7 a.m., officers responded to a call for a body found in the area of South Bremen and Marginal streets near the Mary Ellen Welch Greenway rail trail.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner took custody of the body, Boyle said.
Police are investigating the woman's death but found no signs of foul play and did not rule it a homicide, according to Boyle.
No arrests have been made in connection with the discovery.
