"Akerberg allegedly deployed pepper spray at multiple court officers, a Stoneham police officer, and an assistant district attorney, and assaulted several people before being subdued."
Nicholas Akerberg, a 28-year-old man, was arrested after entering Woburn District Court in military-style gear and allegedly pepper spraying court officials. Akerberg faced multiple charges, including assault with a dangerous weapon and intimidation. During the incident, he also assaulted several individuals before a Taser was used to subdue him. Following the altercation, both Akerberg and several officers were hospitalized but subsequently released. The court ordered Akerberg to undergo a mental health evaluation, amidst serious concerns for the courtroom's safety and decorum expressed by prosecutors.
