As Boston welcomes its patio season, over a hundred restaurants will begin offering outdoor seating. This marks a significant revival for local businesses and enhances the cityâs vibrant social life. Restaurant owners like Kathy Sidell and Annette Zagarella express excitement about bringing people together in a lively atmosphere reminiscent of Italian piazzas. The outdoor dining experience gained popularity during the pandemic and will officially begin on May 1, bringing joy to both diners and staff. An updated list of approved patios is available for locals and visitors to explore.
"It's like recreating a piazza in Italy," said Siddell. "There is nothing like that city vibe when you're walking through the streets as people are eating, drinking, laughing and socializing."
"My staff loves it and it is very exciting," said Zagarella. "There is just a lot of positivity."
