Mike Shaw has launched Park City, a versatile 30,000-square-foot outdoor venue in South Boston, aimed at providing local residents with a space similar to those in the Seaport. Offering outdoor activities, live music, and food from a permanent kitchen, Park City stands out from other venues by providing a cohesive dining experience. With summer classics and international dishes on the menu, alongside kid-friendly features like an ice cream cart and a 'Bark City' menu for dogs, Park City enhances community connections and local enjoyment.
"As a resident, a parent, and a business owner, it was frustrating that we would have to leave our neighborhood to go and access something like this," Shaw says.
"We're going to have as much live music as we possibly can," Shaw says - and the team is already booking local acts.
Unlike other outdoor venues that have rotating casts of food trucks, Park City operates a permanent restaurant and bar on the premises.
Dogs are welcome on the property, too, and there's a 'Bark City' menu for pups, where 20 percent of the proceeds are donated to the local non-profit.
