Trio of top Red Sox prospects invited to spring training
Briefly

The Boston Red Sox announced that highly-ranked prospects Roman Anthony, Kristian Campbell, and Marcelo Mayer will attend the 2025 spring training. Anthony, Baseball America's No. 2 prospect, excelled last season, showing potential for a standout career. Campbell, the 2023 draft's compensatory pick, showcased tremendous offensive success in 2024, leading to his ranking as the fourth-best prospect. Mayer, the team's 2021 first-round pick, also carries promise despite injury setbacks, making this training pivotal for their development and future in the majors.
"He's got a chance to be a 30-homer, high-average, high-OBP guy in right field, maybe with plus defense there, which is a 'best player in the league' profile."
"Across three levels of the Red Sox system, he smashed a .330 average with a .438 on-base percentage and a .997 OPS... He was awarded the MiLB Hitting Prospect of the Year."
